Maltese Cross Brooch

I come back on WordPress with a topic that I have never written about or discussed with anyone before: brooches and vintage.

When I was little, I used to stare at my mother’s amber brooch and I remember I used to love looking through it so much that it really calmed me down. It felt like I’m getting lost in an infinite shades of gold and orange. Now I have created an obsession with brooches. Especially during winter, I’m getting really bored of wearing coats for such a long time but adorning them with such a luxurious jewel, it changes the shape and the seam of the boring winter coat. (talking about winter, it’s April and we woke up with snow today 😀 yay!)

A few weeks ago I went to a vintage store and I immediately got captivated by the shape, the rhinestones and the beauty of this cross brooch-pendant that I got. I knew there was something special about it so, I did some research and it is called “Maltese cross brooch-pendant” and it’s vintage. But mine…I guess the last owner cut off the”extra transparent rhinestones” (I don’t know the right therm for them) or it got stuck in the lady’s scarf or probably it has been dropped many times. But still, it is wearable and extremely beautiful! And why do I love vintage so much? Because I carry on the story of a certain piece of jewelry or home decoration. And for me it’s interesting to find out more about what I buy, the history and last owners.

With that being said, I guess it would be a great idea to show you someday my jewelry collection or do some thrift/antique/vintage hauls on my YouTube channel in the near future 😉
